veterans' days is next week, so this subject matter is a bit early... but... this was taken at the world war ii memorial in DC a few years ago when we visited with my husband's grandfather who had served in the pacific theatre. this is a portion of the 4,000 field of stars, representing approximately 400,000 americans who gave their lives during the war.
thanks to all of those who have proudly served our country, past and present. we are eternally grateful for your service and your sacrifices. god bless all of you!
