unfortunately, the current state of this plant is quite bad. it is losing leaves and all the blooms have dropped. i think it received too much rain (i.e. cristobal), followed by intense heat monday and tuesday (high 90s!). the soil was bone dry when i checked it this evening. anyway, we'll see if i can bring it back to life. i have had one success this summer of reviving a potted plant... but it may just be this plant's time to go. we shall see. i'm gradually learning to let go of dead plants. mom tells me it is just part of the gardening process - trial and error. but it makes me feel like such a failure!
