some thoughts on blogging: i love blogging. wish i had more time for it, but i spend more time checking other people's blogs than updating my own... which brings me to my next thought... i hate blogging. these days we are so over-saturated with media and information, including endless facts and tidbits than we'd ever need to know about our friends, coworkers, neighbors, and family... all thanks to social networks and blogging. with that over-saturation might come the overwhelming feeling that you need to keep up with the 'joneses'... that you might be falling behind because someone just had a baby or bought a new house or went on a fabulous vacation. it is so easy to get caught up in the 'have nots' vs. the things that you actually have. so, this is just my little inspirational post to you... and i'll borrow a quote from a roman philosopher, lucius seneca, who seemed to have it all figured out back in the day.
'true happiness is to enjoy the present, without anxious dependence upon the future, not to amuse ourselves with either hopes or fears but to rest satisfied with what we have, which is sufficient, for he that is so wants nothing. the great blessings of mankind are within us and within our reach. a wise man is content with his lot, whatever it may be, without wishing for what he has not.'
